Salary and Allowances Increases for Award Based Employees24 October 2008If your salary and employment conditions are governed by an award (ie, you do not have a collective agreement or Australian Workplace Agreement) then your salary increased from 1 October 2008. To establish exactly how much your salary has increased, you first need to establish whether or not your employer is a constitutional corporation and whether or not you work under a state or a federal award. There are three variations for you to consider - all with different wage outcomes:

In addition to salary increases, all 'wage-related' allowances (ie, those allowances that are tied to a salary level) have increased by varying amounts. These increases may also have some relevance for employees whose employment is governed by collective agreements which tie the allowances to the award allowances.
