Airlines: Government Support – But Private Equity Bid Hits Turbulence23 March 2007Despite strong public opposition the Howard government has cleared the way for the private equity takeover of Qantas. The Howard Government has shown it has little interest in protecting the long-term interests of Qantas or the interests of over 35,000 Qantas employees by approving the private equity bid for Qantas.
