Active! Strong! United! The Nov 30 Day of Union and Community Action

01 December 2006

Over a thousand ASU SA & NT Branch members made history today by standing together with other workers and their families to voice their opinion about the Howard Government’s attacks on rights at work.

ASU SA & NT members gathered in Elder Park, in SA regional venues, at Fannie Bay Racecourse in Darwin and in Alice Springs and were hooked up via Sky Channel to a live broadcast from the MCG.

ACTU leaders, church leaders, the Leader of the Opposition and Australians who have already been affected by Howard's anti-worker laws urged people to continue the fight for rights at work in their workplaces and in their community. Those present also vowed to vote for change in the next Federal Election.

The Your Rights at Work campaign is about rights at work for future generations of Australians. All ASU members are invited to join this campaign and get active! For details on how you can get involved contact ASU Branch Assistant Secretary Katrine Hildyard.
