ASU Worklace Reps and Activists Update27 March 2006The Howard Government’s industrial relations legislation is now in place and our campaign continues.
As we have discussed with many of you during the past year there are many ways we can work together to lessen the impact of this legislation in your workplace and ensure that your wages, conditions and rights at work are secure. We will continue to work with you on plans for your workplace and your industry to ensure that ASU members are in as strong a position in their workplace as possible. We will continue to campaign with you to build on the already massive support that we have in the broader community to overturn these laws and to ensure that your rights at work are a key issue in the next Federal Election. In order to help you as workplace leaders face the challenges ahead new ASU Your Rights at Work seminars have been organized. These seminars will provide further detail about the changes, crucial information for you as Workplace Reps and active members about how the changes affect your role and strategies for organising your workplace to fend off the worst of these changes.
