ASU LOCAL GOVERNMENT - Your Rights at Work Are Under Threat16 February 2006Your Workplace Rights are under threat. Come along and hear new information about the changes and your role and get involved in the fight to save workplace rights Many of you would be aware that the Federal Government has control of the Senate and has just implemented its first wave of new Industrial Relations legislation. The legislation will affect Local Government workers; it includes:
Your Union the ASU is playing a key role in the ACTU's campaign to save workplace rights .... but a massive effort by all Union members is required to fend off some of the worst proposals and organise in your workplace and in Local Government to secure your rights at work. The ASU Office is providing Local Government specific education to all WPRs and activists to ensure you have crucial information about your role as a WPR or active member in the new environment and how we are going to fight for our rights at work in Local Government in the coming months.
